Got questions about hiring a campervan from Campervan Village. Whether you're a new customer or a returning one, we hope this page will help you get the information you need quickly and easily. All Campervan Village rental offices across Australia and New Zealand are:
Monday to Friday - 9 am to 4 pm
Saturday - 9 am to 12 pm
Sunday - CLOSED
Some locations allow after-hours pickup or dropoff, however, this must be arranged beforehand and may incur additional fees. If you require service outside regular hours, please contact us to confirm availability.
Please also remember to bring your blankets / sleeping bags, pillows and towels as these items are not supplied with your camper.
We highly recommend bringing your own AUX cable and 12V to USB adapter for your devices, as many of our vehicles do not have USB ports.
Make sure you compelete all the steps of our easy online check-in platform prior to pickup, preferably 72 hours prior to pickup so all information can be verified and any delays at pickup can be avoided.
Yes! We do allow one-way hires between most Campervan Village locations. By getting a price online you'll be able to check if one-ways are offered with your desired pickup and dropoff locations along with any relocation fee.

AWhen selecting Standard Liability, a $5/day fee applies per additional driver. However, up to 4 additional drivers are included with Campervan Village's Liability Reduction 1, Cover One & Cover Plus. Please be aware that all drivers will need to sign the rental agreement and must supply a copy of their driver's licence.
Campervan Village offers Liability Reduction options damage cover to reduce your liability in the event of an incident or accident. Liability means the state of being legally responsible for something. When renting with Campervan Village, you are liable up to the chosen liability in the event of an accident or incident, no matter if you are at fault and provided you do not breach the terms and conditions outlined in your rental agreement.
Also, please note that Damage Cover is not a substitute for travel insurance; we always recommend that hirers purchase the most comprehensive Travel Insurance available for complete peace of mind.

Depending on your damage cover option, you may be required to pay a bond. With the bond amount either being deducted from your account or held as a pre-authorisation. The bond amount is released or refunded at the end of your hire, provided the vehicle is returned in the same condition as it was at the start of your hire.
2WD Vehicles
Standard Liability: $5,000 (deducted)
LR One and Cover One: $500 (pre-auth)
Cover Plus: $0 (no bond)
4WD Vehicles
Standard Liability: $10,000 (deducted)
Cover One: $2,000 (deducted)

In Australia and New Zealand, we hire campervans to anyone over the age of 18. The minimum age for all AWD/4WD vehicles is 21.
Campervan Village does rent to holders of a provisional license (Green or Red P plates) but this may incur an additional fee.
For international visitors, an international license is not required to hire from the Campervan Village, however, if your license is not in english we recommend applying for one as authorities in some regions may request an international license.
While airport pickups are not available directly, most of our depots can be easily accessed by public transport, however ordering a taxi or Uber can be a quicker and more convenient option.
Our daily rental rates are calculated using calendar days (e.g. picking up on Monday and returning on Tuesday will count as 2 days).
Our campervans general require petrol, and 4WD campers typically require diesel. This information should be displayed on the fuel cap of the vehicle, or you can check out our vehicles for more details.
Your vehicle should be returned with the fuel tank at the same level as at pickup.
Yes! Campervan Village may offer unlimited kilometres, or extended kilometre allowances, however, these are subject to minimum hire periods and areas of use.
Our minimum hire periods vary by location and season, and are subject to change. Please review our policies for more details.
Please note: Johnny Feelgood campervans picking up on the East Coast may have additional restrictions on their unlimited kilometre allowance. Please review our area of use for more details.
All hires include access to a 24 hour helpline for assistance with a breakdown or any other issue related to your vehicle. Please review your booking documents for the appropriate roadside assistance number in your region of travel.
Please note that roadside call out fees may apply for any issue resulting from human error and non-mechanical breakdown, e.g., tyre changes, lost keys, flat battery, out of fuel
For your safety and the welfare of our vehicles, Campervan Village has strict Areas of Use. Please take the time to familiarise yourself with our permitted Areas of Use while planning your journey.
Please be aware that island or beach driving are completely prohibited in all of our vehicles. Penalties apply for breaching our area of use policies.
The cost of renting a campervan can vary quite a lot by location and availability, however typically you can hire a campervan in Australia or New Zealand for about $50-$80 a day.
Yes. Depending on availability, you can easily extend your campervan hire by calling us prior to your dropoff date.
For customers who booked directly with Campervan Village, please email info@campervanvillage.com to cancel. All bookings made through agents need to be cancelled through the agency. Customers can either receive a credit towards a future booking or the following will apply if customers prefer a refund:
• If cancelled up to 61 days prior to pick up: the reservation will be cancelled free of charge, no fee applies from Campervan Village.
• If cancelled from 60 to 22 days prior to pick up: a 10% fee applies with a minimum fee of $150.
• If cancelled from 21 to 7 days prior to pick up: a 20% fee applies with a minimum fee of $250.
• If cancelled 6 to 1 days prior to pick up: a 50% fee applies with a minimum fee of $400.
• If cancelled on day of pick up or No Show: 100% fee applies, no refund. The customer may be able to move the pick up date, an admin fee of $150 applies to do so.
• Please note we do not offer a refund or credit if a Vehicle is picked up late or returned early.
• The Cancellation fee period is based on Australian Eastern Standard time.
*In the case of postponing the travel dates of your booking and then subsequently cancelling, the original travel dates will be used to calculate the cancellation fees; and
**In the case of bringing forward the travel dates of your booking and then subsequently cancelling, the new travel dates will be used to calculate the cancellation fees.
Please note: If we are required to transport a vehicle to your pick-up location and you fail to show up or cancel your hire, you may be liable for transport costs and associated administration fees.
No. Driving on the beach is strictly prohibited in all Campervan Village vehicles. By doing so you will void your damage cover and risk incurring additional penalties.
Please ensure you familiarise yourself with our terms and conditions, and our permitted areas of use while planning your trip.
For 2WD (Two-Wheel Drive) Vehicles: The minimum clearance required is 2.3 meters (7.5 feet).
For 4WD (Four-Wheel Drive) Vehicles: The minimum clearance required is 2.7 meters (8.8 feet).
To avoid any potential damage to the vehicle, be mindful of low hanging objects and do not enter places with low clearance such as undercover car parks and drive-throughs. Damage to rooftop tents may not be covered by our damage cover options.
Our 2WD Campers lack backseats, making them unsuitable for young children. Our 4WD vehicles do have anchorages for child seats, however we do not provide these at our rental locations. If you require child seats, you can may be able to buy/rent them from a third party (subject to location and availability). Please avoid installing child restraints in the center seat of the second row as there is no top tether anchorage for that position.
